FORUM CONFIRMED BROSIUS AS THE CLEAR CHOICE
As a resident of Astoria, I went to the American Association of University Women candidate forum on April 21 to hear directly from candidates seeking local office. The event included some thoughtful ideas from different perspectives but in one race the contrast of the candidates could not have been greater.
As a candidate for County Commission District 3, Mike Brosius provided detailed and thoughtful ideas to address the county’s problems, especially about diversifying our economy and housing. His grasp of the issues combined with his community work on job training programs, along with his support of the hospital and the arts means he is prepared for the complexity of the job on day one.
In contrast, his opponent provided mostly vague statements and few talking points except when she admitted she was wrong, and Brosius was right that her idea for an AI data center is an unworkable, costly, and overall bad idea.
After watching the forum, the choice couldn’t be more clear. Mike Brosius is ready to serve right away, and his opponent did not appear to have the capacity to handle the challenges we face. Don’t take my word or anyone else’s though. Download the podcast of the forum available through KUMN and listen to it for yourself. I think you’ll agree.
